This post is going to be covering the different forms of music videos.
Digital animation
This is when a music video is an animated music video that would be created on a computer. Would be the music video for Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn and John. This is because the whole music video is a digital animation the whole way though
Stop motion
This is when they take different images of something then edit them together to make it into a video a really good example of this would be Wide Awake By Katie Perry. This is not the original video for it but some one copied the original music video by in stop motion.
In concert
This is when the artist has a music video of them performing there song live. I think that this is really good because you get to see them perform there song and sometime they are a little bit different to the original song itself. It also a way of some artists to get more people to view there song. For example if they realised there music video for there song they could make a live version of it to get more people to listen.
Live footage
This is when there is a music video of an artist or a band on tour and they are joking around not really taking things seriously. I think that this is a good way to show that the artist is human as it shows what they do when they are not performing.
studio based
This is when there is a music video that would be filmed either in the studio where they recorded it. Or on the set where they filmed the video e.g. like a tv studio. I think that these videos especially the one's where they film in the recording studio is really good because they give the music its self a more real feeling.
Cinematic
This is when the music video would tell a story or almost look like a film. Some of them can be really good because they can make the song really memorable this can be due to a high budget or because of of scenes in the video. Some cinematic music videos can be really good and intresting. This normally due to the high budget
